Lampreys, aka, ‘vampire fish’ are a meter long with funnel-like razor-toothed mouths which are designed to clamp on to skin so they can feast on flesh.
According to Swimmer's Daily, cleaned up rivers have led to the flesh-eating fish breeding more and record numbers have already been found in the Great Ouse, Trent, Derwent and Wear rivers. This summer, swimmers are alerted to be more aware of the fish that can drain your life force.
