Will you allow Gigantopithecus to be an Orangutan?

Have you noticed that practically every depiction of Gigantopithecus resembles an orangutan?
Obviously, this is because orangutans are currently found in Borneo and Sumatra, which are close to Vietnam, one of the areas Gigantopithicus fossils have been found. Gigantopithicus fossils have also been found in China and India and both countries have monkeys with orange coloration, so maybe the color orange is a reasonable consideration when depicting Gigantopithicus. However, since Gigantopithecus is only known from fossilized remains of jaws and teeth, no one knows exactly what Gigantopithicus' coloration was, much less it's exact look.

Recently Disney released Jungle Book with a Mighty Joe Young sized CG orangutan representing a Gigantopithicus. Disney wanted to be faithful, in some regards, to their 1967 animated version but were more aware this time around that orangutans were not native to India, so they made orangutan character "Big Louie" a Gigantopithicus, which was, at one time, native to India. Since some have tried to fit Gigantopithicus into the Bigfoot narrative, Gigantopithicus has also been depicted as an upright ape. Below are some recent depictions of Gigantopithicus and also a clip from Disney's 2016 Jungle Book.

Is there a push to represent this creature as a larger version of an existing creature? Draw you own versions of Gigantopithicus and you stand a chance of being just as accurate as how it is currently being represented.

    1. Good one, Joe. On a serious note I must say that it is an outrage that Giganto is reduced to Orang status, even down to the flappy cheek pads!

    3. What is "tiddly doo"? Is this a reaction to the guy who called himself Joe Fitzgera1d and incorporated British-isms into his posts? Is Tiddly Doo like Tally Ho? Or is Tiddly Doo a Southern United States-ism like Diddly Doo or dog-gone-it?

    4. He is just another guy named Joe who's British. He says things like tiddly doo and rule britaina all the time. Joe also has a split personality. You'd have to ask him what all that means. Good luck on that.

    5. So, there are 2 British Joes and one of them has two personalities. One of the joes says tiddly too, the other has a split personality and they are iktomi and Joe f. ?

    6. This Joe is not Iktomi/ Joe F. He's another Joe who hangs out at Bigfoot Evidence who happens to be British. They both are pro Bigfoot believers but this Joe will be talking about sports one minute and trying to pinch your arse the next. He does come up with some funny one liners though.

    7. I think the arse pincher is fake Joe :) xx

    8. I think all joes other than joe f. chose their name based on Joe f. whether they be believer or skeptic, comedic or otherwise. That said, joe f., who now goes by iktomi, may or may not be actually named joe in the first place.

  2. "A US Supreme Court ruling has forced the Smithsonian institution to release classified papers dating from the early 1900’s that proves the organization was involved in a major historical cover up of evidence showing giants human remains in the tens of thousands had been uncovered all across America and were ordered to be destroyed by high level administrators to protect the mainstream chronology of human evolution at the time. The allegations stemming from the American Institution of Alternative Archeology (AIAA) that the Smithsonian Institution had destroyed thousands of giant human remains during the early 1900’s was not taken lightly by the Smithsonian who responded by suing the organization for defamation and trying to damage the reputation of the 168-year old institution.

During the court case, new elements were brought to light as several Smithsonian whistle blowers admitted to the existence of documents that allegedly proved the destruction of tens of thousands of human skeletons reaching between 6 feet and 12 feet in height, a reality mainstream archeology can not admit to for different reasons, claims AIAA spokesman, James Churward.

«There has been a major cover up by western archaeological institutions since the early 1900’s to make us believe that America was first colonized by Asian peoples migrating through the Bering Strait 15,000 years ago, when in fact, there are hundreds of thousands of burial mounds all over America which the Natives claim were there a long time before them, and that show traces of a highly developed civilization, complex use of metal alloys and where giant human skeleton remains are frequently found but still go unreported in the media and news outlets» he explains.

A giant human femur uncovered in Ohio in 2011 by the American Association for Alternative Archeology, similar to the evidence presented in court

A turning point of the court case was when a 1.3 meter long human femur bone was shown as evidence in court of the existence of such giant human bones. The evidence came as a blow to the Smithsonian’s lawyers as the bone had been stolen from the Smithsonian by one of their high level curators in the mid 1930’s who had kept the bone all his life and which had admitted on his deathbed in writing of the undercover operations of the Smithsonian.

«It is a terrible thing that is being done to the American people» he wrote in the letter. «We are hiding the truth about the forefathers of humanity, our ancestors, the giants who roamed the earth as recalled in the Bible and ancient texts of the world».The US Supreme Court has since forced the Smithsonian Institution to publicly release classified information about anything related to the “destruction of evidence pertaining to the mound builder culture” and to elements “relative to human skeletons of greater height than usual”, a ruling the AIAA is extremely enthused about.

«The public release of these documents will help archaeologists and historians to reevaluate current theories about human evolution and help us greater our understanding of the mound builder culture in America and around the world» explains AIAA director, Hans Guttenberg. «Finally, after over a century of lies, the truth about our giant ancestors shall be revealed to the world» he acknowledges, visibly satisfied by the court ruling. The documents are scheduled to be released in 2015 and the operation will be coordinated by an independent scientific organization to assure political neutrality"

    1. ^ World News Daily Report is a news and political satire web publication, which may or may not use real names, often in semi-real or mostly fictitious ways. All news articles contained within worldnewsdailyreport.com are fiction, and presumably fake news. Any resemblance to the truth is purely coincidental, except for all references to politicians and/or celebrities, in which case they are based on real people, but still based almost entirely in fiction.

    3. True, if you literally mean the National Inquirer and not tabloids in general including like Weekly World News, for example, which print stories like "FBI Captures Bat Child". However, that copy and paste above was entirely made up and with the advent of genetic engineering and real creatures being created, why fall back on stuff that is demonstrably false, time after time. There's real stuff coming that is a lot more interesting and crazy.

  4. Rickys thoughts on Gigantopithecus (my serious side)

"O Gigantopithecus, Gigantopithecus, wherefore art thou Gigantopithecus?"

Truer words have never been spoken. Until we have more than a few jawbones and a bowl of teeth speculation is all that's on the table. Science has a history of jumping the gun on the appearance of fossils in real life. The T Rex for example was always pictured as a towering upright creature that lumbered along in a plodding fashion. Now they are constructing the bones in a more realistic sleek/swift horizontal position. In the case of the Gigantopithecus, if and when the scientists want to get serious about it's real look they should come see ME, since I have actually seen it's cousin the Bigfoot. Until then the world will just have to wait. I shall end this report now because nature is calling me to the restroom. Good day.

    It's just me,
    Ricky:)

    1. Scientists are now suggesting T-Rex was feathered. Their depictions have transitioned from reptile to bird. O serpent heart hid with a flowering face! Did ever a dragon keep so fair a cave?

Regarding Giganto, Jeffrey Meldrum wrote a chapter on the possibility of Bigfoot being a surviving Gigantopithecus but is now considering Squatch to be a type of human.

Parting Dogman Evidence is such sweet sorrow, that I shall say good night till it be morrow.
